Central Florida Physician Raises Funds for Family Building
More than 9.3 million American women seek treatment for fertility issues

Winter Park, FL (October 27, 2008) --- More than $70,000 was raised and 150 guests attended the Annual Embracing Hope Gala held Saturday, October 25 at the elegant Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida. Proceeds benefit programs and services for those facing fertility and family building challenges, including the Embracing Hope Grant and the Path to Parenthood Conferences.

Luminaries in attendance were Special Guest, Trista Sutter, ABC's original "Bachelorette", Gigi Fernandez, two-time Olympic tennis champion, Jane Geddes, Women's US Open champion, and Lauren LaPonzina, Anchor at FOX 35 Orlando. Entertainment was provided by nationally headlined Michael Andrew and Swingerhead.

Kim Hahn, Founder and CEO of Conceive Magazine, was presented the First Annual "A Lifetime of Embracing Hope Award" for her tireless efforts to educate and open the discussion of fertility and family building. Kim created the first magazine created to empower others on their journey to parenthood.

"Thank you for the wonderful outcome of the Gala. Your tireless efforts enabled more patients to achieve their dream of building a family. I am honored and privileged to be associated with you all," said Mark P. Trolice, Founder of Fertile Dreams, to the many that helped make the evening a success.

According to the National Center for Health Statistics, more than 9.3 million American women seek treatment for fertility issues annually in their dream to have a family. In 2003, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention reported that over 48,000 babies were born as a result of 122,872 assisted reproductive technology procedures performed. Research has shown that in most infertility cases, 40 percent of the complications are female, 40 percent are male and 20 percent are undetermined.

Sponsors for the 2008 event include Michael Andrew, Melissa B. Brisman, Esq., California Cryobank, Central Florida Doctor Magazine, Clear Channel-Orlando, Eileen Coe, Esq. and George Coe, Esq., Conceive Magazine, Dr. Jernigan - CEO, Adventist Health System, Fertility & Reproductive Medicine Center for Women, Fertility C.A.R.E., Fields BMW, Hot Moms Club, Kings Pharmacy, Mazzotti Portraits, MD News Magazine, Moms Like Me Magazine, Nth Degree Design & Visual fx, OV-Watch, Playground Magazine, Posh Parenting, Purple Cow Productions, Reproductive Medicine Institute, Dr. & Mrs. Mark P. Trolice, WDBO-AM 580 (Cox Radio), Wayne Densch Foundation, West Wing Limousine, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, Winter Park Memorial Hospital, and Xytex.

The Embracing Hope Grant program awards $10,000 grants to deserving couples who do not have the insurance nor financial resources to afford the costly in-vitro fertilitization treatment they require to achieve pregnancy. For many, the Embracing Hope Grant represents their only chance to attempt to conceive their biological child. In 2009, we will establish the Embracing Hope Grant for Adoption.

The Paths to Parenthood Conference was created four years ago and is the only one of its kind the country. Drawing nationally known speakers and exhibitors, this annual event provides hundreds of conference attendees with vital and timely information on infertility causes, treatment options, adoption, support groups, and much more.

Gala To Benefit Couples Struggling With Infertility
ABC's "The Bachelorette" Star To Appear At Annual Embracing Hope Gala

Orlando, FL (September 10, 2008) --- Trista Sutter, the original "Bachelorette," has been named Fertile Dreams' 2008 celebrity spokesperson and will be among the luminaries attending the 4th annual Embracing Hope Gala hosted by Fertile Dreams on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida. FOX 35 News Anchor Lauren LaPonzina will emcee the evening's full festivities.

This year's "Lifetime of Embracing Hope Award" will be presented to Kim Hahn, Founder and CEO of Conceive Magazine. While Kim and her husband Ernie of 16 years were trying to start a family, Kim was frustrated by the lack of positive, consumer-friendly information about fertility. Specifically, she longed for a magazine as beautiful, upbeat, and informative as the many pregnancy and parenting magazines on the market. After four years of fertility treatment, including three in-vitro fertilizations, Kim and Ernie decided that becoming parents was more important than becoming pregnant, and they adopted their daughter, Taylor Ann. And soon afterwards, Kim left her banking career to start Conceive Magazine. With Conceive, Kim wants to share her experiences to educate and empower women on their journey to parenthood.

"The Bachelorette" star, Trista Sutter, has been open about her difficulty becoming pregnant and is looking forward to help increase awareness about fertility issues.

The black-tie event will showcase a silent AND live auction with items ranging from exotic jewelry to artwork to sports memorabilia to unique international trips, Embracing Hope Grants awarded to infertility couples, four course dinner, and dancing to the music of nationally known Michael Andrew and Swingerhead. Mr. Andrew is currently working with legendary Jerry Lewis on the Broadway musical version of the classic comedy The Nutty Professor slated to open in New York, 2009.

Proceeds from the event enable Embracing Hope Grants to provide $10,000 toward the cost of infertility treatments at any fertility clinic in the United States. For many, the Embracing Hope Grant represents couples only chance to conceive their biological child.

Founded in 2004 by Infertility Specialist Mark P. Trolice, MD and his wife Andrea, who have personally experienced the impact of infertility and have adopted their two children. Fertile Dreams is a nonprofit organization that offers hope through education and access to resources. Nine million Americans or one in eight are infertile.

St. Cloud Couple Welcomes First Babies Born From Embracing Hope Scholarships

Winter Park, FL (March 12, 2007) --- Yadira Campis and Jamie Medina, of St. Cloud, are the proud parents of twins born Saturday, March 10, at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies in Orlando. Arriving via C-section, baby girl Yadielis, weighed 6 lbs., 7 oz., and her brother, Jamie Yadiel, weighed 6 lbs., 12 oz.

Yadira and her husband, Jamie, were among the first recipients of Fertile Dreams’ Embracing Hope grants. Created in 2004, the grants provide $10,000 assistance toward in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to couples who wish to build a family but have had difficulty conceiving. The grants may be used at any fertility center in the United States.

Married for 10 years, Yadira and Jamie had tried to have a family for the past seven years. After much testing, Yadira was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and Jamie was diagnosed with a low sperm count. After several attempts at artificial insemination, IVF and a second mortgage on their home to pay for treatment, the special education teachers had all but given up and still did not have the family they desired. Drained emotionally and financially, Yadira said they learned about the grants and decided to apply at the urging of their physician on the same day they had nearly given up on their dream.

Last June they learned they were the recipients of the grant. Then in July they learned Yadira was pregnant, and in August they were thrilled to hear they were expecting twins – a boy and a girl.

“Yadira and Jamie are two of the most caring individuals I’ve met and will make wonderful parents,” said Mark Trolice, MD, a reproductive endocrinologist who founded Fertile Dreams after he and his wife personally experienced their own fertility issues and adopted two children. “The goal of the scholarships is to give couples like Yadira and Jamie an opportunity to fulfill their dream of becoming parents.”

More than 9.3 million American women seek treatment for infertility annually, according to the National Center for Health Statistics. Most have no insurance coverage for IVF or its associated medications, which can range in cost between $10,000 and $15,000 per couple.
